Understanding Support for Diversity
28.06.2023, 16:00 - 17:30 (CEST)
Hermann Föge Weg 11 & online (Livestream on YouTube)
Popular support for diversity is often underestimated and, so far, insufficiently understood. The Diversity Assent (DivA) Project at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity addresses this gap. On 28th June, Max-Planck researchers Eloisa Harris and Karen Schönwälder will discuss key results with Nan Zhang and Andreas Zick from Mannheim and Bielefeld Universities. Attend the discussion live in Göttingen, per livestream or watch the video afterwards and learn about these questions: How do we best capture diversity assent? What exactly do Germans assent to? Who are the supporters of different features of diversity? And, finally, what consequences do the project results have for future research and politics?
Speakers:
Nan Zhang (Mannheim Center for European Social Research, Mannheim University)
Andreas Zick (Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG), Professor of Socialization and Conflict Research, Bielefeld University)
Karen Schönwälder (Research Group Leader at MPI-MMG)
Eloisa Harris (Department for Socio-Cultural Diversity, MPI-MMG)
